When upgrading cars, we gained two "Unexpectedly Useful Car Features" and lost 2 others.

Kinja'd!!!

Gained:
Backup Camera/Sensors - I don't care what anyone says, this thing is useful as all hell and works perfectly in low-light conditions.
Bluetooth - Dat cordless music streaming and calling.

Lost:
Rain Sensing Wipers - Worked very well, always turned on when they should have at the correct speed.
Heated Seats - Dem toasty buns, they could melt bone I'm pretty sure.

My parents actually avoided any sort of active lane-keeping, blind spot monitoring alerting BS. Which is good if you ask me, because that shit was annoying as hell in the Impala we test drove. Especially because it used the same chime as the "Hey dipshit your door's open" ding that GM has been using for years.

Every time someone entered a blind spot it dinged liked that?!

That's a nightmare.

BTW I wasn't aware of this, but you can have heated seats put in basically anything accessory style.

I'm not sure about blind spots, but every time we "Went out of our lane without a signal" (We never even moved out of the lane) it did the classic GM door ding at a fast pace.

The seat material in the Fusion actually doesn't get very cold, heated seats would probably just be another useless headache in it.

Car is back w/ functioning remote start and no gremlins?

No gremlins, but also no remote start. Service department is ordering the correct Ford system to be installed rather than the wrong, not compatible system the aftermarket companies' overflow company put on.

I hate my rain sensing wipers. It's always doing the exact opposite of what you want them to do.

The only time the ones on the Vue did anything strange was when you sprayed washed fluid. Sometimes they would swipe a few seconds after you sprayed it because some fluid hit the sensor.

Mine are too finicky. I also hate that dry swipe everytime I turn on the car, it ruins my blades. Not sure if GMs systems do that.

Is that called a "Courtesy Wipe" or something like that? The Fusion has that as an option of either on or off, kept it off. Mainly because we didn't know what the hell it was.

GM's systems don't do that, at least the three cars at my house didn't.

No I think that's different.

I'm pretty sure it's to clear the windshield to provide a control for the sensor parameters.

In the winter with ice it will wipe (not getting any ice off), the wipers won't turn on again because the sensor thinks the windshield is clear.

Courtesy wipe on Fords is an extra wipe a few seconds after the wash cycle gets done. It works nice on the highway where you'll run the washer fluid and then get a stream running up the windshield shortly after the wipers get done. At low speed it is kind of annoying.

I hate that GM door chime so unbelievably much. My Uncle's 2014 Camaro has the chime, I think it might be one of the worst door chimes in modern history. I can't imagine that happening for BSM too. Heated seats is an interesting omission...

As bad as the GM one was, the Ford's is so much worse.

This is the closest I can find to the Fusions, it's about the same, but it's a little more elaborate in the car.
